  • Company Overview: I am employed as an Electrical and High Voltage Supervisor on a Mineral Sands Mine in Senegal, West Africa. This is 5 weeks on and 3 weeks off fly in fly out Expat rotation.
  • Report to the Maintenance manager/HOD
  • Plan weekly tasks and execution of maintenance requirements
  • Maintenance on all overhead line infrastructure. 33 kV and 11kV (around 40km in total)
  • Breakdowns, repairs, building and care of overhead distribution lines.
  • Overhead line construction and installation as the mine expands
  • Daily/ Weekly 33kV trailing cable relocation for mine movement
  • HV and MV cable jointing, repairs and terminations.
  • HV trailing cable coupler terminations and repairs in case of failure
  • Substation maintenance on LV and MV switchgear and equipment
  • Switching of LV, MV switchgear (415V, 11kV and 33kV)
  • Transformer inspections and replacements
  • Weekly HV shut down and isolations for mine movement
  • Manage and supervise my HV team and execute tasks safely
